Therapy Commute

Driving with vertigo can put yourself and others on the road at risk. Driving with a known medical condition that impairs your ability to drive can also have legal consequences.

Alternative options, such as using public transportation or ride-sharing during episodes of vertigo may worsen your symptoms. This can prevent you from attending therapy sessions independently and impede your recovery process.

Awaiting Diagnosis

The diagnostic process for vertigo can often take months and cost thousands of dollars before receiving proper treatment. Unfortunately, the longer treatment is delayed, there is a greater risk of developing chronic conditions or falling.

It’s important to seek medical attention as soon as possible if experiencing vertigo symptoms to minimize any potential risks and begin appropriate treatment.

I don’t think I could have gotten myself out the door to an office setting that morning and was so very grateful for the mobile service that Clarity offers. I did make my flight that day and by the next day I felt 100% and was hiking just as planned. I highly recommend Clarity Rehab and PT...Kevin is awesome!

I went to see Kevin because I was extremely dizzy, nauseous as a result. In just one session he realigned the crystals in my ear and the dizziness was gone.

  • Our Doctor of Physical Therapy will arrive at your home to perform a multi system examination to determine the root cause of your symptoms and treat them. Therapy sessions typically last about an hour. Dr. Kevin Smith, PT, DPT, CBIS takes a whole person approach, considering how each sensory system may be contributing to your symptoms, how the brain is processing that information, and he will identify any other systemic problems that may need a referral to other disciplines.

  • Dr. Smith, PT, DPT, CBIS will evaluate and treat patients without a referral for up to 12 visits or 45 days, whichever comes first. If needing to continue past that time frame, an in person visit with a physician is required to continue per California state regulations.

  • If you are further than a 25 mile radius from Huntington Beach, there will be a $50 charge for each increment of 25 miles of travel. For example, if you are 50 miles away from Huntington Beach, the travel charge will be $100.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A concierge physical therapist provides therapy the way it should be. I created Clarity Rehab and Physical Therapy to help people in Orange County, CA with vertigo and imbalance before they spent thousands of dollars going through multiple doctors, as this process often takes months before someone sees a therapist for treatment. I wanted to build relationships with my patients, provide them with the best physical therapy for their specific needs, and deliver vestibular physical therapy when it was needed, not months later. I provide therapy sessions around your schedule. Early mornings, evenings, weekends; therapy provided when you need it. Being a mobile therapist, I come to you, whether it is at the office, home, or the most convenient space for you. My patients get the full time that they need with me. I value relationships, human connection, and time with people to properly address their impairments. This model of treatment is more comprehensive, getting people better, faster with less sessions, and with higher success than a traditional clinic.

  • Have you have gone to a traditional physical therapy clinic and experienced the rush and 8 minutes of one on one time with the therapist? There are many physical therapy clinics that feel the burden of insurance companies and their regulations, resulting in the time a patient gets with the therapist being 15 min or less before they get passed off to an aide to do exercises for the rest of the time. My patients get the full time that they need with me. I value relationships, human connection, and time with people to properly address their impairments. When therapy sessions are rushed, there’s only time to provide a generic treatment. With Clarity Rehab, I have the time to search for the root cause of your symptoms and provide therapy to address it, rather than just addressing symptoms as they pop up.

  • Our Doctor of Physical Therapy will arrive at your designated location (usually home or office) to perform a multi system examination to determine the root cause of your symptoms and treat them. Therapy sessions typically last about an hour but can be up to two hours. Dr. Kevin Smith, PT, DPT, CBIS will begin by listening to you and gathering specific details. He will perform some tests and measures and then provide specific interventions to address your impairments. Dr. Smith takes a whole person approach, considering how each sensory system may be contributing to your symptoms, how the brain is processing that information, and he will identify any other systemic problems that may need a referral to other disciplines.

  • Therapy sessions last as long as is necessary to provide you with what you need. This often is between one and two hours each session.
